Market roll-out of newly developed stroke-stamping process.


2008

In January 2008 appr. 40 of a total of 125 employees moved into one centralized office building.


2006

QM certification ISO/TS 16949 for the manufacturing department of customer parts.


2005

At the end of February the 800th built cold forming maschine was handed over to the customer.


2005

Production start-up on January 3.2005, as planned, in the newly built facility in Oetwil am See.


2001

Enlargement of the product range by design and development of the first GROB Slotting Machine type S8 for sheet metal parts and delivery to General Motors, Strassburg in May.


1999

Certification according to ISO 9001. Delivery of the 700 th GROB Coldforming Machine.


1991

Aquisition and completion of a second factory site at Oetwil/Switzerland.


1985

Foundation of ERNST GROB AG after Dr. Grob passed away.

His grand son and now owner of the company Daniel Dériaz who is CEO since the death of Ernst Grob has had the ability to keep up the continuity of developing new processes and machines. Through intensive worldwide contacts with customers and partners he is leading the company on its way into the future.

Implementation of CNC-Technology.


1970

Introduction of the SPS-Technology; start with an in-house electromechanical department, including software and hardware engineering.


1963

Export of the first machines to Germany, Italy and Japan. Building up of a worldwide sales network, for example in North and South America & Japan.


1962

Foundation of the company by entrepreneur Dr. honoris causa Ernst Grob and start with the unique cold-forming process.

Intensive studies of the cold formimg process made him believe there has to be more to it than just thread rolling.
In 1948 he built the first prototype roller head with the typical planatory movement of the rolling tools.

15 Years of intensive research and development brought the cold forming process for splines as well as the machine to the point of introduction to the industrie.

The first Coldforming Machine ZRM 2 was delivered to Sulzer, Zuchwil/Switzerland.

Dr. h. c. Ernst Grob 1893 – 1985


1930 -er Jahre

Entrepreneur Dr. honoris causa Ernst Grob was a recognised capacity for cold forming. In the twenties and thyrties of the last century he engineered and manufactured thread rolling machines according to his own ideas and patents in his 1926 foundet machine tool company in Munich.
